Reliance Jio's big bang, more than 46 lakh new customers added in a month

Geo has retained its number one spot in the Indian telecom market with a market share of 33.47 per cent. Airtel came in second with 28.31 per cent share. Number three is Vodafone Idea.


Reliance Jio and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited have been successful in connecting subscribers in March 2020. So two other telecom companies in the country, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, have lost their customers. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has given this information in its report. As on March 31, India has 989.10 million subscribers, TRAI said in its report. So the number of telephone subscribers has come down to 1,177.97 million as compared to February. The figure was 1180.84 in February.

Geo added 46 lakh new customers
Geo has managed to add 4.6 million new customers in March 2020. While Geo added 46,87,639 subscribers, BSNL added 95,428 subscribers. Vodafone Idea lost 63,53,200 subscribers while 12,61,952 subscribers left Airtel.

Geo is still the No. 1 crown
Geo has retained its number one crown in the Indian telecom market with 33.47 per cent share. Airtel came in second with 28.31 per cent share. Number three is Vodafone Idea. Vodafone Idea has a 27.57% share of the Indian telecom market. BSNL is at number four with 10.35 per cent share

In the final stages of talks between Geo and Google, Google CEO Sundar Pichai on Monday said they would invest a whopping 10 billion in India's digital ecosystem over the next 5-7 years. During a conversation with a business newspaper, when asked about the possibility of investing in the Geo platform, he neither said no nor said yes. According to a Bloomberg report, Google could invest અ 4 billion (about Rs 30,000 crore) in Mukesh Ambani's company Geo Platforms. This conversation is in the final stages.

The new Geo phone is about to launch
The 43rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries is scheduled to take place on July 15 and this time the company may launch the next Geo phone. There are reports that the company may be bringing its third generation Jio phone and its name may be Jio Phone 3. The last two models Jio Phone and Jio Phone 2 were also launched during the General Meeting.
