 A big tweak to the customers of this telecom company, unlimited free calling off


BSNL has discontinued unlimited free calling, tweaking its prepaid customers. The company has changed its plan to capping in voice calling minutes.




New Delhi: BSNL has recently discontinued five of its prepaid STVs. But once again the government telecom company is in discussions with the revision of STV 395. With this revision, BSNL has introduced voice calling limit for the second time. Importantly, the telecom company was offering Unlimited Voice Calling Benefit till October 31. The STV 395 gets two GB of data per day. It is valid for 71 days and will continue to receive these benefits after the latest revision. Modifications to STV 395 will apply to all circles.


After the new change in BSNL STV 395, 3000 on-net while 1800 of net minutes are being free over. Earlier, the plan offered the benefit of unlimited voice calling. But the telecom company has been capping for 250 minutes every day. After free minutes, users will have to pay a charge of 20 paise per minute.

Importantly, private companies like Vodafone Idea and Airtel are offering unlimited voice calling without any FUP limit. Reliance Jio is capping for off-network calling minutes and charges 3 paise per minute.


With BSNL's STV 395, 2 GB of data is available daily for 71 days. The new plan STV 395 is available in all telecom circles except Mumbai and Delhi circles. Importantly, in both these metros, MTNL is providing its own service instead of BSNL.
