This year 25 Ekadashi vows will be performed instead of 24. Kashi's astrologer Pt. According to Ganesh Mishra, such a situation has never happened in the Hindu calendar, but it can happen in the English calendar due to the occurrence of dates. This calendar usually has 2 Ekadashi fasts in a month. Thus fasting is done 24 times throughout the year. But due to almanac calculation, sometimes it becomes a situation that Ekadashi date occurs 3 times in an English month. Last year also there were 25 Ekadashi fasts. But there was 3 Ekadashi in July due to overcrowding.


Ekadashi comes twice a month: -

According to astrological calculations, the eleventh date is called Ekadashi. Which comes twice a month. One is in the Sud party and the other is in the Vad party. Ekadashi after Purnima is called Vad Paksha Ekadashi and Ekadashi after Amas is called Sud Paksha Ekadashi. Thus 24 Ekadashi dates have been given different names. Each Ekadashi has its own significance.

Ekadashi fasting bears more fruit than Yajna and Vedic rituals: -

According to the Puranas, Ekadashi is called Hari Vasar i.e. the day of Lord Vishnu. According to scholars, Ekadashi fasting bears more fruit than Yajna and Vedic rituals. It is mentioned in the Puranas that the parents get satisfaction from the virtue gained by performing this vow. The importance of Ekadashi vow is also mentioned in Skanda Purana. Doing so removes unintentional sins.
