 How much will the Center and the state government help the families of the victims of the hurricane?


The Center and the state government will jointly provide assistance of Rs 1 lakh to the injured

Una, Diu, Jafrabad and Mahuva in Bhavnagar have been devastated following the Tau-te hurricane in the state. The hurricane killed 45 people and left many homeless. This was followed by a high-level meeting of the core committee chaired by Chief Minister Rupani to discuss the situation arising out of the Tau-te hurricane. The Chief Minister then announced that Rs 4 lakh would be provided by the Gujarat Government to the heirs of those who died due to this hurricane.


The Chief Minister said that this assistance would be provided in addition to the assistance of Rs 2 lakh announced by the Government of India. Thus, a total of Rs 6 lakh will be provided to the heirs of those who died in the hurricane in the state.


A total of Rs 1 lakh assistance to the injured

In addition, the state government will provide Rs 50,000 assistance to those injured in Tau-te hurricane. This assistance will also be provided by the state government in addition to the assistance announced by the Prime Minister, i.e. a total assistance of Rs 1 lakh will be provided to those injured in the hurricane.


Thanks to PM for help of Rs.1000 crore: CM

Also, Chief Minister Rupani welcomed the announcement made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Rs 1000 crore for immediate relief assistance in the aftermath of the hurricane disaster in Gujarat and thanked the PM and the Government of India. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been standing by Gujarat in its calamities by providing generous assistance whenever the need arose, including this calamity that befell Gujarat.

Chief Minister Rupani has expressed confidence that the assistance rendered by the Prime Minister to Gujarat will be a further relief even in the aftermath of this hurricane.


The Center provides assistance of Rs. 2 lakhs to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured

Earlier, PM Modi boarded a helicopter from Bhavnagar to monitor the situation after the hurricane. After this review meeting, PM Modi has announced immediate assistance of Rs 1000 crore to Gujarat against the loss of crores caused by the hurricane. In addition, Rs 2 lakh has been announced for those who died during the hurricane across the country and Rs 50,000 for the injured.

The high-level meeting of the core committee, chaired by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, urged the secretaries of departments including road building energy to consider in detail the situation arising out of Hurricane Tau-te in the state as well as to rehabilitate and restore the affected areas. The meeting was also attended by Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja, Chief Secretary Anil Mookim, Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister K Kailasanathan, Additional Chief Secretary to Revenue Pankaj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister MK Das and Principal Secretary for Health Dr Jayanti Ravi and senior secretaries.
