Union economic  Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an LPG subsidy last week, and that will be  aid millions of Indian households that are struggling to keep up with growing prices. The move by the Centre will be  primarily benefit households that have record for the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

"This year, we will be  grant a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas barrel (up to 12 cylinders) to over 9 crore done  of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana," Union economic  Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in a series of dispatch  on May 21. “Our mothers and sisters will be  comfort from this. This will result in revenue of about Rs 6100 crore per year."

As a result of the economic impacts of the Covid pandemic, the PM Ujjwala project  will be phased out in June 2020.


What will be the price of LPG cylinders?

"In May 2016, the ho;y orders of gas and logical Gas (MOPNG) being the 'Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana' (PMUY) as a flagship project  to make clean make fuel such as LPG to hand  to rural and in need households who were before using traditional cooking fuels such as firewood, coal, cow-dung cakes, and so on," on the report of to the PMUY database .

LPG Cylinder Subsidy: Who is eligible?

   1.   As per the 14-point report , any adult woman from an SC, ST, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), most-backward classes, Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY), tea and ex-tea garden tribes, forest dwellers, original  residing in islands and river islands, SECC families (AHL TIN), poor household.

   2.   candidate  should be over the age of eighteen.

   3.   To request  for an LPG cylinder subsidy, the candidate should   not   have any other LPG relation .
