WhatsApp Use | Now download Digilocker documents like PAN, driving license via MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp

With the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp, the government aims to make government services accessible, inclusive, transparent, and simple.

MyGov has partnered with WhatsApp to offer new Digilocker services on the popular instant messaging platform. These services include creating and authenticating their Digilocker account, and downloading documents like PAN card, driving license, vehicle registration certificate, among others.

With the the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp, the government aims to make government services accessible, inclusive, transparent and simple. “The Government has been working to promote “Ease of Living” through Digital India and the MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp is a major step to ensure governance and government services are at the fingertips of citizens,” the official press note noted.

Using the MyGov Helpdesk, WhatsApp users will now be able to get documents including PAN card, Driving License, CBSE Class X Passing Certificate, Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC), Insurance Policy - Two Wheeler, Class X and XII Marksheet, and Insurance Policy Document (Life and Non-life available on Digilocker) handy.


How to download PAN card using WhatsApp

To get these details, users will just need to send 'Namaste’ or ‘Hi’ or ‘Digilocker’ to the WhatsApp number +91 9013151515.
  • Step 1: Save the number +91 9013151515 in your contact
  • Step 2: Open WhatsApp
  • Step 3: Send Namaste or Hi to WhatsApp number +91 9013151515
  • Step 4: The Digilocker Helpdesk will send the list of services it offers
  • Step 5: Enter the number of the service you wish to avail

Once the process is followed, the Digilocker Helpdesk will share the document on WhatsApp. However, the services can be availed by those who have their documents saved on Digilocker app, which is available on both Google Play store as well as Apple App store.

“With new additions like Digilocker, the MyGov chatbot on WhatsApp aims to build a comprehensive administrative support system for citizens to access resources and essential services that are digitally inclusive,” the official press note noted.

The MyGov Helpdesk on WhatsApp was first launched back in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The service allowed WhatsApp to offer users authentic sources of Covid-related information along with details on vaccine appointment bookings and vaccine certificate downloads.

It is claimed that so far over 80 million people have reached out to the Digilocker helpdesk, over 33 million vaccine certificates have been downloaded, and millions of vaccination appointments have been booked across India.
