For enhanced participation of electors in the electoral process and reducing the electoral malpractices, it is essential to improve the quality of electoral registration process and of the electoral rolls. Booth Level Officer (BLO) is a local Government/Semi-Government official, familiar with the local electors and generally a voter in the same polling area who assists in updating the roll using his local knowledge. In fact, BLO is a representative of Election Commission of India (ECI) at the grass-root level who plays a pivotal role in the process of roll revision and collecting actual field information with regard to the roll corresponding to the polling area assigned to him.




Under Section 13B (2) of Representation of People Act, 1950, BLOs are appointed from amongst the officers of the Govt. /Semi Govt. /Local Bodies. Generally, one BLO is responsible for one part of the electoral roll. From August, 2006 the Commission has decided to introduce the concept of appointing BLOs who would be accountable for ensuring the fidelity of electoral roll.+




The ECI introduced this new system of appointing BLOs creating a clear line of accountability for preparation of an error-free electoral roll, making the BLOs its custodian at the polling booth level. Previously, voter-identification slips used to be distributed by the contesting candidates of various political parties and that gave scope for complaints. The preparation of accurate electoral rolls and direct distribution of voter identification slip by the BLOs also boosted voter confidence in the credibility of the election process.




BLO assists eligible citizens to become voters and obtain voter card. BLO provides those different forms for addition, deletion and correction of Electoral Roll entries, carries out physical verification, and gives his/her report to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) .The BLO interacts with local people/ political parties’ representatives and identifies dead/shifted/duplicate voters to be removed from the electoral roll after due process of law. Eligibility:- The student studying in class VIII and must have secured 55% marks


(for general category) or 50% marks (for reserve category i.e. SC/ST/PH) in class
VII. The annual income of the parents of the student appearing in the examination
should not exceed Rs. 1,50,000/-( Rs one lac fifty thousand only) from all sources.

Under this scheme, it is proposed to award 100,000 scholarships to the gifted or meritorious students whose parental income is not more than Rs 1,50,000/- per annum from all sources. Each State /UT shall have fixed quota of scholarship which will be decided on the basis of enrolment of students in Class VII and VIII in the State/UT concerned and population of children of concerned age group of class VII and VIII. The scheme would provide reservation to different categories of students as per the State/UT norms; as different States/UTs have their own norms of reservation. However, the total number of scholarships to a particular State UT may be restricted to the allocation made by the Central Government. 1.2 These scholarships will be provided quarterly to the students studying as regular students in class IX in government, local body and government-aided schools. The scholarships will be paid from class IX till class XII for a maximum period of four years.

NMMS Scholarship Class 8th Syllabus 2022
In order to prepare for the NMMS scholarship exam 2022, the students must prepare as per the prescribed syllabus by the exam conducting body.

The exam question paper of Mental Ability Test (MAT) will cover the multiple – choice questions from topics like analogy, classification, numerical series, pattern perception, hidden figure etc. The complete question paper will be based on verbal and non – verbal meta – cognitive skills such as reasoning and critical thinking.
The question paper of Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) will cover the class 7th and 8th syllabus subjects as mathematics, social science, science, general knowledge etc.
The students can refer to the NCERT books to complete the syllabus of NMMS scholarship.
For the MAT paper the mental math books of class 7th can be referred to by the students.

About NMMS Scholarship Exam:

National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme "National means cum mcrit Scholarship Scheme" Declaration 2020-21. A scheme called National Means cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for students studying in has been implemented by MHRD, NEW DILHI.

State Examination Board, Gandhinagar will conduct an examination on Sunday 28-02-2021 to select the beneficiary students for this scholarship. 

Scholarship amount and payment rules:

After the examination, the students who come in merit in the district-wise fixed quota will be given a monthly stipend of Rs. 1000 / - per annum! Scholarship will be available to eligible students for four years as per 12000 / -.

Scholarships will be paid to eligible students as per the guidelines of MHRD through the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD), Government of India, New Delhi.

Scholarship amount will be directly in the bank account of the beneficiary students through MHRD through National Scholarship Portal

Student Qualification:

The student will be able to appear for the N.V.H.S examination in the current academic year in Government Primary Schools in Std-8, Local Body Schools in District Panchayat Municipal Corporation / Nagarpalika) and Granted Primary Schools.

General Category and OBC The student of the category should have obtained at least 55% marks or equivalent grade in Std-7. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students should have obtained at least 50 marks or equivalent grade in Std-7 in the kitchen.

The annual income of the guardian of all categories of students is Rs. Only students who do not exceed Rs. 1,50,000 / - will be able to appear for this examination.

Students of private schools, private schools, self-finance schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas and residential schools run by state government institutions which provide accommodation, meals and study facilities will not be able to fill up the application form.

General Category and OBC Examination fee for category students will be Rs.70 / -.

Ph.D. And S.T. Examination fee for category students will be Rs.50 / -.

Service charge will have to be paid separately.

Fees paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Fee Acceptance Center:

After filling the application form in the computerized post offices of Gujarat as the fee acceptance center, the fee can be printed and the fee can be paid. Two of the three parts printed currency will be returned by the post office.

The post office will have to check whether the fee has been paid from the confirmation number along with the receipt given by the post office to the payer.

You can also pay the examination fee through "ATM CARD / NEET BANKING" through online payment gateway. Click on "Rint Application / Challan" and fill in the details to submit online Then select the appropriate option from the options of Online Payment "Guests seg. ZONE 1 Ct ascului Net Banking of ſce" u Other Payinent woul "and fill in the following details. e - receipt to be printed. If there is any defect in the process, it will be seen on the screen that your fee has not been paid.

If the e-receipt is not generated within 2 hours after deducting the fee amount from his bank account, the online fee payer will have to contact the State Examination Board immediately by e-mail.

On Apply online page, kindly go through “How to Apply” manual to understand the procedure of applying for the scholarship examination. Click on “Apply” Button in line with NTSE Exam to proceed. You may also read the Notification for the NTSE Examination.Kindly go through the dates and important details, enter your U-Dise number and clock on submit button to apply.
After submit, a pre-filled form will be shown, kindly confirm your personal details and School details. If in case of change in School, enter new School Dise code, click on “Change School” button, your school details will be updated for this examination. Enter mobile number of Parents and Principal/Teacher mobile no. Kindly click on Submit to submit your form.
