March 3, Wednesday: Kalashtami
The fast of Kalashtami will be observed on the fifth day of Vad Paksha in the month of Maha. This fast is dedicated to Lord Shiva's form Kalabhairav. On this day, the story of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati is heard by waking up at night and blessings of happiness and prosperity are sought from them. It is believed that fasting Kalabhairav brings liberation from all problems and negative powers like Tantra-Mantra.
March 8, Monday: Swami Dayanand Jayanti and World Women's Day.
Swami Dayanand Saraswati's birth anniversary will be celebrated on Monday, March 8. Also this day is World Women's Day. Swami Dayanandji was born in the city of Tankara in Gujarat and his mother's name was Yashodabai and his father's name was Karshanji Lalji Tiwari. His father was a rich, prosperous and influential man. He could have lived his life happily if he wanted to but he did many social reforms and established Arj Samaj.
March 9, Tuesday: Vijaya Ekadashi
Vad Paksha Ekadashi of Maha Mahina is known as Vijaya Ekadashi and this time the auspicious date is coming on 9th March. In the scriptures, Vijaya Ekadashi is considered to be the best of all vows and by performing this vow all sins are destroyed. Fasting on Vijaya Ekadashi brings victory in both worlds. This is the best vow to worship Lord Vishnu and receive his blessings.
March 11, Thursday: - Mahashivaratri-
Shivaratri falls on the fourteenth date of Krishna Paksha every month but the fourteenth date falls in the Vad Paksha of Maha month is called Mahashivaratri. In Hinduism, the festival of Mahashivaratri is considered very special. This is the statement of fasting on this day. This is the main festival of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Lord Shivaji and Mother Parvatiji were married on this day. Worshiping Shiva-Parvati with a sincere mind on this day yields all kinds of auspicious fruits.
March 17, Wednesday: - Vinayak Choth-

March 21, Sunday: Holashtak begins.
Holashtak begins every year eight days before Holi. This year the date is Sunday, March 21. According to the scriptures, the time from the eighth date of Sud Paksha in the month of Fagan to Fagal Poonam is called Holashtak. Doing any good deed during this time is considered taboo. After all, this period is inauspicious. In the meanwhile it is considered very inauspicious to do Manglik deeds.
Thursday, March 25: Amalki Ekadashi
The Ekadashi date of Sud Paksha in the month of Phagan is called Amalki Ekadashi. This time the auspicious date is Thursday, March 25. The Ekadashi that precedes Holi is also called Rangbhari Ekadashi. The mango tree should be worshiped on this day and those who cannot fast should consume mango. It yields many times the fruit. Banke Bihari Holi is specially organized in Mathura on the colorful Ekadashi day.
March 28, Sunday: Holika Dahan-
Holi is considered to be the most important festival in Sanatan Dharma. It is mentioned in the scriptures that on the full moon day of the month of Phagan, it is worshiped by collecting sticks and ashes collected from Holashtak and burning Holika at auspicious times.
