He quit his job at an IT company and started making footwear from scrap tires, with an annual turnover of Rs 7 lakh.

He quit his job at an IT company and started making footwear from scrap tires, with an annual turnover of Rs 7 lakh.

Pooja Apte Badamikar from Pune unveiled two prototypes made from aircraft and truck tires at Startup India, people liked the idea

Pooja says 100 crore tire scrap is generated in the world every year, of which only 0.1 per cent is reused and recycled.

Pooja Apte Badamikar, a 28-year-old IT professional living in Pune, is quitting her well-paying job and making footwear from scrap tires. Their innovation is playing an important role in saving the environment. She makes 200 pieces of footwear every month and has an annual turnover of Rs 7 lakh.

Pooja got a job in an IT company after doing electronic and telecom engineering from Pune University. Pooja worked there for four years. During this time he did post graduation in Renewable Energy from Terry University, Delhi. During the course he started studying up cycling and recycling. Now he knows that everyone knows about plastics, but very few people know even after the question of tires became serious.

In the year 2018, she won a prize in the Upcoming Woman Entrepreneur category

Pooja says the world generates 100 crore tire-scraps every year, of which only 0.1 per cent is reused. Under these circumstances, many tires remain the same in Landfill. As I began to study and research this, I came to know about the African community who made footwear from scrap tires. I took inspiration from them and decided to start working on a plan to create beautifully designed shoes. Some time later I also made two prototype designs from truck and aircraft tire scraps and presented them in 'Startup India'. This design was much appreciated and in the year 2018 I also got a prize of Rs. 50,000 in the Upcoming Woman Entrepreneur category. This is how I started my brand Nemital.

Creating this prototype for worship was not so easy. "When I went to the local cobbler, he refused," he says. Prototypes made with the help of some cobblers. The prize money I spent on research and development in the manufacturing sector. Launched the product in May, May 2019.

Pooja further says, we are preparing 35 types of products in the category of men, women. In this we sell through online platforms. We also have a small warehouse cum studio in Pune. From here we also sell the product. From here we also do room material and designing work.

Pooja says, I initially chose the fabric myself. I brought in tires and designed the product, which meant I worked like a soloprenior. A designer joined us eight months ago. They belong to the footwear industry.

Invested one lakh rupees to start a business

Pooja says, I had a good job. Leaving a paid job and starting from scratch was a big personal challenge. It is important for anyone looking to start a startup to know that if you plan to earn the same amount of money within 6 months of starting a startup, it is wrong.

Pooja says about footwear production, it is divided into different parts. Procurement and cutting of tires is done first. For this we enlist the help of regpickers. The pyrolysis plant also takes tires from the tire supplier. The process of preparing the bottom is then done.

In the meantime a cushioning layer is applied to the bottom. These are crafted by a different craftsman. Then the work of the upper layer is done. A tailor madam makes a layer on top of various fabrics and cushions. We produce 200 pieces. Our annual income is Rs 7 lakh. He invested Rs 1 lakh to start this business. In this we spent 50 thousand rupees on research and 50 thousand rupees on raw materials.

Start a business with one customer and one order

Pooja says that if a person wants to do this business, it is not difficult, although its creation is not so easy, i.e. you have to start a business with one customer and one order at the beginning. If you satisfy that customer with cushioning, comfort and style then satisfy your customers with the quality of the product. The initial investment is not more than Rs 50,000.

Sarla tells online stories to children in a small country and abroad, setting a record of more than 350 stories

Sarla tells online stories to children in a small country and abroad, setting a record of more than 350 stories

Today we are introducing you to Sarlaben Minnie, the youngest of 10 thousand children i.e. 65 years. Don't be surprised .... in fact he has established his relationship with children by telling stories. He means that many children listen to his story and consider him their little one. There is a trend of nuclear families in the present times, in these circumstances the tradition of hearing stories is almost over. However, Sarla is still carrying on this tradition very well. He is originally from Rajasthan and now lives in Bengaluru. Sends 8 to 10 minute clips of his story to more than 10 thousand subscribers. They tell stories in Hindi and English in a very beautiful accent.

The year 2021 is the biggest year of hope for this century, as the corona that has affected more than one crore people in the country will start the year with a vaccine to prevent it, so there is a lot of hope for the year 2021.

4 years ago the niece asked me to record the story and send it

“I used to tell my grandchildren a story for a long time,” says Sarlaben Minnie. However, on March 21, 2017, I became a storyteller. In fact, this happened when my niece Parul, who lives in Surat, asked me to record a story and send it. I recorded and sent the story. Wherever these stories reached, they were appreciated. People asked if this kind of story could be heard by them every day. Thus began the storytelling nanny.

Initially Sarlaben had more than 40 broadcast groups on WhatsApp. He has more than 10 thousand numbers in this group. As a result, his WhatsApp crashed within a few days. He then created his own account on the telegram, over which he now sends the story to the children. Sarlaben does not charge for this. The children also send them a voice message telling them how they feel about the story. Not only that, storytelling is also discussed in countries like Britain, America, Switzerland, Dubai. “I’ve been telling the story to the kids in my house for about 45-50 years,” says Sarlaben. In the past, I would only tell stories that I remember. I have recorded over 350 stories so far.

Did a Montessori course 30 years after graduation

"I graduated in philosophy and psychology, but I never got a job," says Sarlaben. After that they got married, but when the children grew up and went out to study, they started feeling lonely. Then I felt I should study, I felt better with the kids. I took a Montessori course 30 years after graduation. I passed first class with distance. There were children my daughter's age in that course. May then studied at Montessori for 6 months. Abacus trained from ICMAS.

At that time I was living in Kolkata. The family then shifted to Bangalore. For some years I was in charge of the house. So there was nothing I could do. Supported the kids a lot when recorded.

Sarlabe says- the story I am sending is that many voice-messages of children come to her. Once a parent from a village called and said that this story helps them so much that their children listen for hours. It increases vocabulary, knowledge. When one person wrote that my children are not grandparents. This story is the best gift for children. One was a very good response. One woman wrote that my husband was not well. They were feeling a little depressed. “Let’s put a story of a story-telling nanny,” he said. "Whether it's 8 years old or 38 years old, it's great to hear the story," Sarlaben said.

Sarlahen gives her story for one and a half hours every evening. They record the story twice a week. On Tuesdays they send Hindi Story and on Friday English Story. Starts searching for a story within a week of sending it. They read multiple versions of a story. He then improvises and prepares and records a story of his own. Sarlaben sends the story through his telegram channel, via the YouTube channel.

I say- short story gets free

"I get calls from people in the big cities asking why you don't charge for the story. Nowadays you don't get anything for free," says Sarlaben. I told them, the story of the storyteller gets free. I want to send my stories not only to the children of the cities, but also to the children of the hinterland, to as many children as possible.

Sharing a pleasant experience, he says, a seven-year-old boy has created a blog of stories listening to my story. She was informed about this when her parents called. I am very happy to see the children coming out of Doraemon and coming to these stories.

Durgaram Chaudhary of Rajasthan got on the train at the age of 12 without telling anyone at home. They did not know where to go, what to do, where to stay. The only thing on my mind was to do something. He left home with Rs 150. Today he owns two companies with a turnover of over Rs 40 crore. He himself told the story of reaching a turnover of zero to 40 crore rupees.

Spent 6-7 months on the sidewalk

My parents were both farmers. As a kid, I used to think of something to do. Many people from Rajasthan were going south for business. Seeing those people, one day I also got on the train to Ahmedabad without telling anyone at home. There were 150 rupees in his pocket. Some people were talking about going to Mumbai in the train, after listening to them I also went to Mumbai. Rs 40 went on rent, when I reached Mumbai I had Rs 110.

He says he spent the first 6-7 months in Mumbai on the sidewalk. There was a temple in the CP tank, which was filled with the offerings that were distributed there. Near the temple was the hall of the Arya Samaj, where weddings took place. There the waiter started working. He used to get 15 rupees for working in a marriage. This went on for several days. There was a shopkeeper near Arya Samaj Hall. He saw my young age and offered me a job as a houseboy in a house. Worked there for two and a half years. Learned to cook and save the house. From there he started doing the same thing at a doctor's house.

‘It was always in my mind that everyone in the village would know that if I come to Mumbai and cook, no one will respect me, so there is no need to cook. Quit cooking and started working at an electrician's shop. The purpose was to learn the job. But two months later the store closed. Ganesh Jain, the owner of Venus Company, lived in the building where the shop was located. He was from Rajasthan. Had a little acquaintance with Madame he kept her at work at home. There I started cooking again. One day I told him that sir I do not want to do the work of cooking. I want to learn something. So he offered me the job of packing cassettes in his company and told me to cook for him and learn to work. He worked there for a year and a half. He left in 1996 to find a new job after raising some money. '

Durgaram said - A madam working in Venus started working in T-series. His reference also got me a job in the T-Series. I realized the market for cassettes. I saw how the work is done. As soon as I got the job, I realized that along with the job, I could also buy cassettes from the market and sell them out. I started selling cassettes after work. I used to go to the market every day. I used to buy 10-12 cassettes and sell them on the sidewalk. Keep up with this job. A commission of ten to fifteen rupees was earned on a cassette.

He said, "In this way, one and a half hundred rupees a day started being earned in addition to the salary. A few months later he also rented a small shop. Then I started selling cassettes from there. In 2000, 9 years after I left home, I talked to my family and told them that I was in Mumbai and working. I left the T-Series in 2002, as Reliance Communications was just starting out. They wanted people who could understand the industry, who could coordinate with the producers. While working in T-series, I had relationships with many producers, actors and actresses. Everyone had to go to the office. So I got a job at Reliance. By 2004, I had two cassette shops with a Reliance job. '

‘Ringtones and caller tunes became a trend in 2005. One song was downloaded in millions, but all the songs lived in Bollywood. I have been selling cassettes of Gujarati, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri songs for years and I saw that his cassettes are selling even more than Bollywood songs. It occurred to me that when so many Bollywood songs are downloaded, how many will be regional. I started telling people who used to take cassettes to give me a song, I would convert them to digital. These songs will be played on the phone. No one responded for several days. '

Reached Mehsana in search of the company

He says that a Gujarati song came out in 2006, which was a huge hit. I reached Mehsana looking for the company that made it. Explain to them that you give me the rights to this song. We will take it digital. There is no harm in doing good or not. They got ready. The problem now was that I was doing the job, so I couldn't make an agreement with them. I spoke to Hungama Company. There were some friends of mine. He made an agreement with a company from Gujarat. Even those people were not ready to upload the regional song. They complied after much request. In a year and a half, the song was downloaded 3 lakh 75 thousand times. In this deal, I earned a royalty of Rs 20 lakh. Rs 20 lakh was given to the Gujarat company and 30 per cent commission was given to Hungama Company. '

Durgaram says - Just after that Hungama started uploading all my content. A few days later he even offered me a job. I said that I would do the job only on the condition that my job in Rajasthan and Gujarat would remain with me. They believed. I would take any hit song to the company. Talking to him brought the song to a digital platform. Before all this came 2012. The age of YouTube had come. I quit my job and started my own company if I wasn't too excited to go to YouTube.

‘We had to start from scratch again, as I had as many regional partners as I could. Again it got to the owners of the companies. Explained to them that I have started my own company. You give your content, we will bring it on YouTube. Everyone supported me. We quickly brought regional content to YouTube. We acquired several small companies from Rajasthan. Also reached Kolkata, Assam, Odisha. Brought the regional songs there to the digital platform. In 2017, the animation firm also started with this work. Today, I have 65 employees and the combined turnover of the two companies is over Rs 400 million. '
