2017 has been an eventful year for the Bollywood film industry. Apart from movies and stars making headlines, a number of B-town celebs tying the knot with their significant other also grabbed its due share of the spotlight. This year saw some grand pre-wedding functions, fairytale weddings and gala star-studded after parties. These celebrations brought out tinsel town's biggest stars in their best attire. With the bride and groom dolled up like they’re living a fairy-tale, some of these weddings were too surreal for words. Actress Sagarika Ghatge of ‘Chak De! India’ fame and cricketer Zaheer Khan exchanged their nuptial vows in a private ceremony at the cricketer's Lower Parel residence in Mumbai on November 23, 2017, in the presence of family and close friends. The two had exchanged rings in May with a grand engagement ceremony. The couple reportedly had a registered marriage in a low key ceremony where Sagarika was seen clad in a red saree and her handsome hubby sported a baby pink Kurta. The intimate ceremony was followed by consecutive star-studded wedding parties which saw celebs from the film fraternity and cricket world in attendance.

2. Hrishitaa Bhatt and Anand Tiwari

Hrishitaa Bhatt tied the knot with boyfriend Anand Tiwari on March 4, 2017 in an exotic ceremony. The actress' wedding to the diplomat for the United Nations was largely a private event. Hrishitaa looked beautiful in a coral lehenga paired up with a light gold dupatta while hubby Anand looked dapper in a beige and gold sherwani with a velvet maroon turban. He carried a coral dupatta to complement Hrishitaa’s attire.

Bollywood made its presence felt with appearances from celebs like Bobby Deol, Sohail Khan, Ishita's on-screen father from 'Drishyam' Ajay Devgn with wife Kajol among others at the wedding reception. Ishita looked like a delight in her red lehenga and Vatsal looked dapper in a cream sherwani.

4. Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay

Neil Nitin Mukesh and Rukmini Sahay tied the knot as per traditional Hindu rituals in an intimate wedding ceremony on February 9, 2017. Their picture-perfect wedding in Udaipur was like a page out of a fairytale. Neil looked regal in a cream and maroon sherwani while his bride looked gorgeous in a red and orange lehenga. The festivities went on for days, thus easily making this one of the fanciest weddings in B-town. They had a dreamy engagement, a lavish mehendi and sangeet, a gala wedding followed by a grand reception.

5. Aftab Shivdasani and Nin Dusanj

Actor Aftab Shivdasani and wife Nin Dusanj tied the knot for the second time in an intimate ceremony in Sri Lanka. The long-time lovebirds actually had registered their marriage on June 11, 2014. The wedding was attended by family and close friends. Aftab looked suave in white kurta pyjamas with silver work and a turban. On the other hand, Nin looked ethereal in an ivory coloured lehenga with gold embroidery, however, it was her Kundan jewellery that stole the show.

 The celebrations took place over a span of two days with a mehendi and celebratory party on the beach on day one. On the second day, there was a Hindu wedding ceremony where the couple had flown in their pundit from Mumbai and walked around the fire. It was followed by a Buddhist blessing with local Sri Lankan monks

Firangi: Salman Khan reviews Kapil Sharma’s film

Kapil, who shares a great relationship with a number of Bollywood biggies, had apparently shown rushes of Firangi to Salman.

Salman Khan had visited Kapil Sharma’s show a number of times in the past to promote his film. Interestingly, the latter shared stage with the Bollywood heavyweight while promoting Firangi on Bigg Boss 11.

Kapil, who shares a great relationship with a number of Bollywood biggies, had apparently shown rushes of Firangi to Salman. And the superstar was mighty impressed.

According to a report in india.com Salman is extremely happy for Kapil.

During an interaction with india.com, an elated Kapil said, “Salman bhai pleasantly surprised me. He had already seen the Frirangi trailer and even before I could talk about the film, he congratulated me.”


He said that he loved the production value and loved the fact that I was not just sticking to comedy,” he added.

Firangi is Kapil’s second film as an actor and first venture as a producer. The trailer of the film garnered massive hits and fans of the star comedian are thrilled to watch the film which is slated to release on December 1.

In the film, Kapil exhibits a variety of emotions and it will be interesting to see him do something out of his comfort zone.

“Salman bhai pointed out that the best part about Firangi is I have moved away from what the audience would already be expecting from me. They will go in or ignore the film thinking that it is yet another comedy affair since that’s all they have seen me doing so far. But in Firangi, they will get to see me doing more than just cracking jokes or acting funny and witty,” Kapil said.

Abbas-Mustan had launched Kapil in Bollywood with their film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon. The film did moderately well at the Box Office.

Dhinchak Pooja wants to be a part of a popular music show

Dhinchak Pooja’s ‘melodious’ voice couldn’t help her extend her stay inside the house of Bigg Boss 11. After a brief stint, she was out of house, and now, she wants to be a part of a musical show.

The wannabe singer, who is unintentionally funny, recently took to her Facebook page to express her desire to be a part of MTV Unplugged.

She posted a video in which she asks her fans to share the video so that it reaches MTV.

In the video, she says, “Yo people. Suna hai MTV wale Unplugged ke liye ek singer ko dhoondh rahe hain. Mujhe behetar koi ho sakta hai kya. Dhinchak Pooja stage par aag laga degi...aag. Main wahan par apna sabse favourite gana perform kerna chahti hoon.” Then she sings ‘Selfie Maine Le Li yaar’.
She concludes by saying. “Friends, mera video itna share karein ki MTV walon tak pahunch jaye. Yo.”

Here’s the translation: “Yo people. I heard MTV people are looking for singer for Unplugged. Can anyone be better than me? Dhinchak Pooja will set the stage on fire. I will sing my most favourite song there.” .” Then she sings ‘Selfie Maine Le Li yaar’.

She concludes by saying, “ Friends, share my video as many times as you can so that it reaches MTV people.”
After getting evicted from Bigg Boss, Dhinchak Pooja, during an interaction with media said, “Yes, I want to be a part of Bollywood. I would like to try my hands at acting. Let's see what offers come to me.”

Dhinchak, whose real name is Pooja Jain, hails from East Delhi in the national capital, and first came up with the song Swag waali topi.

Dhinchak's claim to fame are songs that have been dubbed "bad". Yet, tracks like Selfie mainai leli aaj and Daaru went viral on digital platforms.

Does she purposely sing in such a manner to gain eyeballs on social media platforms?

"No. No money has been spent on music and beat... That's why it seems funny. The kind of lyrics I know, I write... And even if I put money and it doesn't come out well, then also it wouldn't seem right," said the 23-year-old.

The Bapu dede thoda cash singer says she wants to do something unique.

"I wanted to do something different. So I created something that people liked in a funny way... Whatever it was, they liked it," she added.

Asked if the negative remarks about her singing skills and videos affect her, Dhinchak said: "No. I don't feel bad. I don't pay attention (to all this).

world's fastest supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully tested successfully for the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi-30-MKI warplane.

With this, India has become the first country to have a supersonic cruise missile run by land, sea and air. This World Records has been mentioned by Rakshashantri Nirmala by tweeting congratulations on DRDO.

Confirming the successful trial, the Defense Ministry said in a statement that the missile was fuselized with the Sukhoi-30-MKI or SU-30 aircraft. The two-series missile engine was turned on and this rose to its target in the Bay of Bengal.

The two-and-a-half-tonne missile weapon is the most heavily used weapon to fly on a modified SU-30 aircraft.

Likewise now BrahMos can be run by land, sea and air, and along with this, cruise missile triad has been completed in India for the war.

BrahMos, the world's fastest supersonic cruise missile, has been successfully tested for the first time from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the defence ministry confirmed today.

As the anti-ship missile was gravity-dropped from the Sukhoi-30MKI or Su-30 from fuselage, the two-stage missile's engine fired up and propelled towards the intended target at the sea in Bay of Bengal, said a statement.

The missile is expected to have a range close to 300 km.

The ministry says the test-flight will significantly bolster the IAF's air combat operations capability.

BrahMos is now capable of being launched from land, sea and air, completing the tactical cruise missile triad for India. Earlier, BrahMos could only be fired from ships or ground-based launchers.

The missile, weighing 2.5 tonnes, is the heaviest weapon to be deployed on India's Su-30 fighter aircraft modified to carry weapons.

BrahMos is named after the rivers Moscow and Brahmaputra; the world's only supersonic cruise missile was built as an India-Russia collaboration.

OK Computer received widespread critical acclaim and has been cited by listeners, critics and musicians as one of the greatest albums of all time. The album initiated a stylistic shift in British rock away from the then-ubiquitous genre of Britpop toward melancholic, atmospheric alternative rock that became more prevalent in the next decade. The album's lyrics and music depict a world fraught with rampant consumerism, social alienation, emotional isolation and political malaise; in this capacity, OK Computer is often interpreted as having prescient insight into the mood of 21st-century life.

            Lyrics

The album's lyrics, written by Yorke, are more abstract compared to his personal, emotional lyrics for The Bends. Critic Alex Ross said the lyrics "seemed a mixture of overheard conversations, techno-speak, and fragments of a harsh diary" with "images of riot police at political rallies, anguished lives in tidy suburbs, yuppies freaking out, sympathetic aliens gliding overhead." Recurring themes include transport, technology, insanity, death, modern British life, globalisation and anti-capitalism.Yorke said: "On this album, the outside world became all there was ... I'm just taking Polaroids of things around me moving too fast."He told Q: "It was like there's a secret camera in a room and it's watching the character who walks in—a different character for each song. The camera's not quite me. It's neutral, emotionless. But not emotionless at all. In fact, the very opposite."

          Release and promotion

According to Selway, Radiohead's American label Capitol saw the album as "more or less, 'commercial suicide'. They weren't really into it. At that point, we got the fear. How is this going to be received?"  According to Yorke, "When we first gave [the album] to Capitol, they were taken aback. I don't really know why it's so important now, but I'm excited about it." Capitol lowered its sales forecast from two million units to a half a million.In O'Brien's view only Parlophone, the band's British label, remained optimistic while global distributors dramatically reduced their sales estimates.
 Label representatives were reportedly disappointed with the lack of potential marketable singles, especially the absence of anything resembling Radiohead's early hit "Creep".

Parlophone's advertising campaign was unorthodox. The label took full-page advertisements in high-profile British newspapers and tube stations with lyrics for "Fitter Happier" pitched in large black letters against white backgrounds.  The same lyrics, and artwork adapted from the album, were repurposed for shirt designs.  Yorke said, "We actively chose to pursue the 'Fitter Happier' thing" to link what a critic called "a coherent set of concerns" between the album artwork and its promotional material. More unconventional merchandise included a floppy disk with Radiohead screensavers and an FM radio in the shape of a desktop computer. In America, Capitol sent 1,000 cassette players to prominent members of the press and music industry, each with a copy of the album permanently glued inside. When asked about the campaign after the album's release, Capitol president Gary Gersh said, "Our job is just to take them as a left-of-center band and bring the center to them. That's our focus, and we won't let up until they're the biggest band in the world."

     Life Of Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 in Delhi into a Punjabi family.
His father, Prem Kohli, worked as a criminal lawyer and his mother, Saroj Kohli, is a housewife.
He has an elder brother, Vikash, and an elder sister, Bhavna.
 According to his family, when he was three-years old, Kohli would pick up a cricket bat, start swinging it and ask his father to bowl at him.

Kohli was raised in Uttam Nagar and started his schooling at Vishal Bharti Public School. In 1998, the West Delhi Cricket Academy was created, and Kohli, a nine-year-old, was part of its first intake.Kohli's father took him to the academy after their neighbours suggested that "Virat shouldn't waste his time in gully cricket and instead join a professional club". Kohli trained at the academy under Rajkumar Sharma and also played matches at the Sumeet DograAcademy at Vasundhara Enclave at the same time. Sharma recounts Kohli's early days at his academy, "He oozed talent. It was so difficult to keep him quiet. He was a natural in whatever he did and I was most impressed with his attitude. He was ready to bat at any spot, and I had to literally push him home after the training sessions. He just wouldn’t leave." In ninth grade, he shifted to Savier Convent in Paschim Vihar to help his cricket practice. Apart from sports, Kohli was good at academics as well, and his teachers remember him as "a bright and alert child".
Kohli's family lived in Meera Bagh until 2015 when they moved to Gurgaon.

Kohli's father died on 18 December 2006 due to a stroke after being bed-ridden for a month. Regarding his early life, Kohli has said in an interview, "I've seen a lot in life. Losing my father at a young age, the family business not doing too well, staying in a rented place. There were tough times for the family... It's all embedded in my memory." According to Kohli, his father supported his cricket training during his childhood, "My father was my biggest support. He was the one who drove me to practice everyday. I miss his presence sometimes."

Born in Delhi, Virat Kohli shot into prominence as the Under-19 skipper, who led India to victory at the 2008 World Cup held in Malaysia. That accolade gained him instant recognition and made him an overnight teen sensation. Soon he made his ODI debut for India in Sri Lanka in August 2008 when he was thrust into the opener's role as both Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar were ruled out due to injuries.

He played two important knocks - 37 in the second ODI and 54 in the fourth - both of which resulted in India winning, thereby enabling them to win the series as well. After such an impressive showing, he was slightly unlucky to remain on the bench when England visited India in December 2008, as Tendulkar and Sehwag had returned and the middle-order was strong and packed.

Kohli, however, was not disappointed and he went back to the domestic scene and continued to plunder attacks playing for Delhi. When India went to Australia to compete in the 2009 Emerging Players Tournament, Kohli shone brightly as he notched up a hundred in the final against South Africa. He finished as the top run-getter in the tournament, ending up with 398 runs from seven matches which included two centuries and two fifties. Due to his tremendous batting exploits, India managed to win that tournament and a new batting star was unearthed.

     IPL Career 

In March 2008, Kohli was bought on a youth contract by the Indian Premier Leaguefranchise Royal Challengers Bangalore for $30,000. He had an indifferent 2008 season, with a total of 165 runs in 12 innings at an average of 15.00 and a strike rate of 105.09. He fared slightly better in the second season in which he made a total of 246 runs at 22.36, striking at over 112, while his team made it as far as the final.
 In the 2010 season, Kohli was the third highest run-getter for his team with 307 runs, averaging 27.90 and improving his strike rate to 144.81.

Ahead of the 2011 season, Kohli was the only player retained by the Royal Challengers franchise. Kohli was made vice-captain of the team that year and also captained the team in a few matches when the regular skipper Daniel Vettori was injured. The Royal Challengers coach Ray Jennings opined that the 22-year-old would become the future captain of not only the franchise but also the Indian team.
 Kohli was the second-highest run-getter of the season, only behind teammate Chris Gayle, and his team finished as runners-up of the IPL. Kohli accumulated a total of 557 runs at an average of 46.41 and a strike rate of over 121 including four fifties.  In the 2012 IPL, he was moderately successful, averaging 28 for his 364 runs.

After Vettori's retirement, Kohli was appointed as the team's captain for the 2013 season. The Royal Challengers finished fifth on the league table that year, but Kohli found success with the bat. Averaging 45.28, he hit a total of 634 runs at a strike rate of over 138 including six fifties and a top-score of 99 and finished as the season's third-highest run-scorer.
 Bangalore finished seventh in the next season in which Kohli made 359 runs at 27.61.[232] He found success with the bat in the 2015 IPL in which he led his team to the playoffs. He finished fifth on the season's leading run-getters list with 505 runs at an average of 45.90 and a strike rate of more than 130.

Singer Robyn Rihanna Fenty was born on February 20, 1988, in St. Michael Parish on the Caribbean island of Barbados. Rihanna's childhood was marred by her father's struggles with addictions to alcohol and crack cocaine and her parents' marital problems—they divorced when she was 14 years old

Rihanna also struggled with crippling headaches for several years during her childhood, a condition she attempted to hide from her friends and classmates so that they would not think she was abnormal. "I never expressed how I felt," she remembered. "I always kept it in. I would go to school ... you would never know there was something wrong with me."

As a teenager, Rihanna turned to singing as a release from her troubles at home. She formed a girl group with two classmates; when they were 15 years old, they scored an audition with music producer Evan Rodgers, who was visiting the island with his Barbadian wife. Rogers was awed by the precociously beautiful and talented Rihanna, to the unfortunate detriment of her two friends. "The minute Rihanna walked into the room, it was like the other two girls didn't exist," he admitted.

Less than a year later, when Rihanna was only 16 years old, she left Barbados to move in with Rogers and his wife in Connecticut and work on recording a demo album. "When I left Barbados, I didn't look back," Rihanna recalled. "I wanted to do what I had to do, even if it meant moving to America."

      Hit Singles On Def Jam

In January 2005, Rogers landed Rihanna an audition for Def Jam Records and its newly minted president, the legendary rapper Jay-Z. "I was in the lobby just shaking," she recalled. However, once Rihanna opened her voice to sing she regained her composure. "I remember staring into everybody's eyes in the room while I was singing, and at that point, I was fearless," she said. "But the minute I stopped singing, I was like, 'Oh my God, Jay-Z is sitting right in front of me.'" The hip-hop icon was every bit as wowed by Rihanna's commanding presence as Rogers had been two years earlier, and he signed her on the spot.

Rihanna has also made headlines in her personal life, although often for circumstances beyond her control.
