Puri said that so far 6,87,467 Indians have returned home through Vande Bharat Mission and other means. Earlier, in August 1990, 1.7 lakh Indians were evacuated from Kuwait in the largest operation. Now Air India has set a Guinness World Record for repatriating nearly 7 lakh Indians from 71 cities in 53 countries.
