A premium fee is paid for a quick decision on a visa application
The United States has increased the fees charged for premium processing of tourist visas by 75%. This will affect the H-1B visa and their family visa application. The new rates will take effect October 19, according to a statement issued by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIC).

Now such a fee has to be paid
Premium processing will now have to pay 25 2,500 instead of 14 1,440, according to the statement. This fee is for premium processing of all visa applications except H-2B and R1. Also, the processing fee for H2B and R1 visa applications has increased to Doller  1,500.

What are the premium processing fees?
Premium processing fees are paid for speedy processing of visa applications. If the premium fee is not paid, the decision on the visa application can take months. This is like the instant train ticketing system of Indian Railways.

The value of India's IT companies will rise
Industry experts say Indian IT companies are hiring new people in the US. An increase in premium processing fees will increase the value of these IT companies in the short run. In addition, visa-related issues will also increase.
