Indigenous app like WhatsApp created by Indian Army, will get this feature
The app will support audio and video calling services in addition to end-to-end secure text messaging. Currently this app is designed for smartphones using Android based internet service.
New Delhi: Continuing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Aatmnirbhar Bharat campaign, the Indian Army has developed an indigenous messaging app like Whatsapp and Telegram. The app is named Secure Application for Internet (SAI), the defense ministry said.
Chat and calling will be end to end secure
The app will support audio and video calling services in addition to end-to-end secure text messaging. Currently this app is designed for smartphones using Android based internet service. Work is underway on the infrastructure hosting process on the app's NIC, the filing of intellectual property rights (IPR) and the iOS version.
The army will use for the message
A statement from the Ministry of Defense said the SAI app model is similar to the commercially available messaging apps WhatsApp, Telegram SAMVAD and GIMS. Use this end-to-end encryption messaging protocol. The statement further said that SAI would be used by the country's military to send messages safely.
Congratulations to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh
The SAI app has been investigated by auditors and Army Cyber Group involved in the CERT-in panel. After reviewing the app, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated Colonel Sai Shankar, who developed it, for his skill.
