Alert Judge / If you drive without FASTags from today, you will have to pay double Toll Tax
Fastag has become mandatory at toll plazas across the country from midnight today. Vehicles that are not fastag will have to pay double the toll from midnight. This has been implemented at all toll plazas across the country since midnight. If there is no fastag, fines will also be levied on the toll plaza according to the category of vehicles which can be double the toll fee. Earlier on Sunday, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that the deadline for installing the fastag would not be extended further. Gadkari also said that the registration of Fastag on some highways has been completed by 90 per cent and only 10 per cent is left. He said that this facility is also available at Toll Naka which people should take advantage of.
FASTags have become mandatory in all vehicles from today. The Union Road Transport Ministry had earlier issued a directive to implement it from January 1. However, the government extended the ultimatum till February 15 to provide relief to the people. FASTags are now mandatory in all vehicles. Electronic Toll Collection System FSASTS Will be required to pay toll charges across the country. You will need it when crossing any toll plaza on the National Highway. Fastag will reduce waiting time for vehicles at the toll plaza compared to cash transactions.
What is Fastag?
Fastag is a type of sticker that appears on your vehicle's windscreen. The sticker is placed inside the windshield of the car and has a bar code. The device uses radio frequency identification technology that connects directly to the scanner at the toll plaza. Money is deducted from your Fastag account while passing the car.
In this case, if this fast is installed on your car, then you can easily leave the toll plaza without any obstruction. You can connect Fastag to your wallet, debit or credit card. In such cases, where the toll will be taken, the money will be deducted from your account.
What if you enter a lane without a fastag?
If your vehicle does not have a fastag, you will not be allowed to enter Marshall Lane in the first place. But if you make the mistake of going into a fast lane, you will have to pay double the toll on the plaza.
Where to buy FASTag?
Your ID is required along with vehicle registration documents to purchase Fastag. FASTags can be purchased from any toll booth across the country.
