Gandhinagar: Various schemes of the government are going on for the overall economic welfare of the poor. Through these schemes, efforts have been made to control poverty and unemployment in the country to a great extent. One of these welfare schemes is 'Manav Garima Yojana'. This scheme is being run by the Government of Gujarat to make the socially and economically backward classes self-reliant. Through this, measures are being taken to make them skilled in small businesses and start self-employment. Thanks to this scheme, many unemployed have received financial assistance and resources from the government. Through this, equipment has been provided to many unskilled people to set up their business.
Rs 76 crore for 'Manav Garima Yojana'
The 'Manav Garima Yojana' was launched in 1996. But, the scope of this scheme has been increased in 2022. Through this scheme, the families unable to start any business due to financial difficulties have got great relief and they have got the opportunity of self-employment. State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is engaged in promoting public welfare schemes to make poor families financially self-reliant in the state. The objective of 'Manav Garima Yojana' this year is to provide financial assistance of Rs 76 crore to more than 19 thousand people. During the recent 'Vande Gujarat Vikas Yatra', material assistance has been provided to many beneficiaries under this scheme.
Sagar Parmar of Banaskantha said that
We earn our livelihood by doing kadiya work. It has become easy for us to do business without capital, because all the hard work tools are given to us completely free of cost by 'Manav Garima Yojana'
28 businesses have been incorporated
Under the 'Manav Garima Yojana' the state government provides the equipment. It covers 28 different businesses. For this one has to register with the required documents on the esamajkalyan website of the Gujarat government.
Government is giving a chance for self-reliance
This scheme is proving to be very effective for those poor and backward class people, who are unable to start even small jobs due to lack of capital. Through this scheme, assistance is being given to the people willing to start self-employed businesses like Kadiya, Cobbler, Carpenter and Blacksmith. Through this scheme, people are becoming self-reliant through employment related to small and cottage industries.

Financial assistance to more than one lakh beneficiaries
Vishnu Chauhan of Gandhinagar district also started a business without any capital. To become self-reliant, he started an independent business of electrical appliances. Today he is able to easily support his family through this. In the last five years, the Gujarat government has provided financial assistance to about 1.10 lakh beneficiaries through this scheme.
