world's fastest supersonic cruise missile BrahMos was successfully tested successfully for the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi-30-MKI warplane.

With this, India has become the first country to have a supersonic cruise missile run by land, sea and air. This World Records has been mentioned by Rakshashantri Nirmala by tweeting congratulations on DRDO.

Confirming the successful trial, the Defense Ministry said in a statement that the missile was fuselized with the Sukhoi-30-MKI or SU-30 aircraft. The two-series missile engine was turned on and this rose to its target in the Bay of Bengal.

The two-and-a-half-tonne missile weapon is the most heavily used weapon to fly on a modified SU-30 aircraft.

Likewise now BrahMos can be run by land, sea and air, and along with this, cruise missile triad has been completed in India for the war.

BrahMos, the world's fastest supersonic cruise missile, has been successfully tested for the first time from a Sukhoi-30MKI fighter of the Indian Air Force (IAF), the defence ministry confirmed today.

As the anti-ship missile was gravity-dropped from the Sukhoi-30MKI or Su-30 from fuselage, the two-stage missile's engine fired up and propelled towards the intended target at the sea in Bay of Bengal, said a statement.

The missile is expected to have a range close to 300 km.

The ministry says the test-flight will significantly bolster the IAF's air combat operations capability.

BrahMos is now capable of being launched from land, sea and air, completing the tactical cruise missile triad for India. Earlier, BrahMos could only be fired from ships or ground-based launchers.

The missile, weighing 2.5 tonnes, is the heaviest weapon to be deployed on India's Su-30 fighter aircraft modified to carry weapons.

BrahMos is named after the rivers Moscow and Brahmaputra; the world's only supersonic cruise missile was built as an India-Russia collaboration.
