Amarnath Yatra will not be held this year, this decision was taken due to the transition of Corona
The Amarnath pilgrimage has been canceled due to increasing transmission of Corona virus in Jammu and Kashmir. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board has decided to cancel the pilgrimage. The Amarnath Yatra was to start from July 21. However, the stick of Mubarak will be taken out on August 3 under the leadership of Mahant Dipendra Giri of Dasnami Akhara. In Jammu and Kashmir, many areas from Lakhanpur to Baltal have been declared red zones due to the recent rise in cases of corona virus.

This year the pilgrimage was to start on 23rd June. But it was postponed due to a lockdown. The trip was later scheduled to begin on July 21. But in the last few days, there has been a resurgence of cases of coronary heart disease in Jammu and Kashmir. The system has decided to cancel the trip.
Baba Barfani's stick Mubarak will not deviate from the traditional Pahalgam route this year. Because the road has not yet been cleared of snow. Due to which the stick will be taken by helicopter to the cave with some monks led by Mubarak's mahant Dasnami akhada so that the pilgrimage can be completed and the worship of Baba can be completed with the traditional rituals. The final darshan will be performed on the day of Raksha Bandhan with stick pujan. Since the Shri Amarnath Yatra has been going on, the holy stick Mubarak is taken for pujan at the Shankaracharya temple before departing towards the holy cave of Lord Amarnath.
