The government issued a notice to Twitter asking for information on high-profile hacking




India's cyber security agency CERT-IN has issued a notice to Twitter following the recent hacking of global celebrities' Twitter accounts. A source close to the matter said CERT-IN had asked Twitter to provide full information on the number of Indian customers affected by the hacking incident. Twitter has also been asked to state what kind of notifications were affected by the incident.

How the attack was carried out
The source said CERT-IN has asked Twitter if some Indian users had visited the malicious tweets and links and whether Twitter had informed the affected users about the hacking and unauthorized use of their profiles. The government has sought information on how people were affected by the attack. Details of the method of attack are also sought.

Details of proceedings sought
It also sought details of corrective action taken by Twitter to reduce the impact of the hacking incident. There was no immediate reaction from Twitter. Notably, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team CERT-IN took action following reports of account hacking of several global businessmen, politicians, celebrities, etc.

A link was posted from their account and Bitcoin was requested. Hacking the Twitter handle claimed that people's bitcoin would be returned by doubling.
The Twitter accounts of billionaires Alan Musk, Warren Buffett, Jeff Bezos, and Bill Gates, as well as many other big names and businessmen and leaders from around the world, were hacked. In fact this hacking is a bitcoin scam.
