Google's statement
Google, in a blog post, accused Paytm of violating the rules, saying "we cannot place an app that hosts online cash games, gambling or betting." Paytm claims to win money through 'PayTM First Games'.
TechCrunch said in a report that the decision was taken by Internet search giant Paytm for persistent violations of company policies. The report, citing a source close to the issue, claimed that the Paytm was done just a day before the start of the Indian Premier League.
What did Paytm say?
Paytm tweeted, "Dear Paytm users, the Paytm Android app is not currently available for download on the Google Play Store." Will be available again soon. Your money is safe, and you can use the Paytm app as before.
