Why
did Sunrisers Hyderabad lay down their arms against Kolkata Knight Riders
despite having a strong team?
In
the 8th match of Indian Premier League 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated
Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 wickets.
Kolkata surpassed the target of 143 runs in 18 overs losing only 3
wickets. The Kolkata Knight Riders'
first win of the season came when the Sunrisers lost their second match in a
row. Sunrisers Hyderabad team is very
strong. They have good bowlers in
particular, yet why did the Kolkata Knight Riders win so easily? Learn important reasons ...
First
reason:
Sunrisers Hyderabad needed a good start in
this match and they could not get it.
Warner and Bairstow could not play openly against the Kolkata
bowlers. Despite being in good form,
Bairstow was dismissed in the fourth over.
He scored just 5 off 10 balls.
Captain Warner then got out after setting himself up.
Second
reason:
Batting order was also a big reason for
Hyderabad's defeat. Hyderabad gave Saha
a chance for the first time in IPL 2020 and he was sent ahead of batsmen like
Mohammad Nabi, Abhishek Sharma and Priyam Garg.
This was Sahani's first match after the lockdown and he could not
connect properly with the ball. Saha
scored just 30 off 31 balls, allowing the team to reach just 142 runs.
Third
reason:
Hyderabad's loose bowling was also a big
reason for the defeat. Khalil Ahmed and
T. Natarajan proved to be very
expensive. Both scored at an economy
rate of 9 runs per over. Bhuvneshwar
Kumar also proved to be expensive. He
gave up 29 runs in 3 overs. Rashid Khan
and Mohammad Nabi bowled hard but did not get any cooperation from other
bowlers.
Fourth
reason:
The good partnership between Shubhaman Gill
and Oyan Morgan was also a big reason for Hyderabad's defeat. Gill scored an unbeaten 70, while Morgan, on
the other hand, played an unbeaten 42 off just 29 balls. The two batsmen had an unbeaten 92-run
partnership for the fourth wicket.
Fifth
reason:
The good bowling of Pat Cummins and Varun
Chakraborty also scripted the defeat of Sunrisers Hyderabad. Cummins took one wicket for just 19 runs in 4
overs, while Varun Chakraborty, on the other hand, picked up 25 runs in 4 overs
despite not having much experience.
