Now the new rules that have come for the sweet shop, will be implemented across the country from October 1:-
In the case of open sweets, the best before date must be displayed from October 1, 2020, along with the tray holding sweets at the outlet for sale.
New Delhi: The government has decided to implement new rules to improve the quality of food items available at local shops, i.e. your neighboring sweet shop. After October 1, 2020, local sweet shops will also have to display information such as date of manufacture and time of use for sweets kept for sale in leaf trays or cans. At present it is mandatory to mention it on the sweets in the can. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has announced new rules.
What is the new rule for the sweet shop:-
The trader will now have to state the time limit for the use of open sweets sold in the market. The customer has to be informed of the time limit for how long it will be good to use. The director of food has made it mandatory.
When will the rule come into force:-
The FSSI, in a letter to the Food Safety Departments of all the States and Union Territories, said that in the public interest and to ensure food security, it has been decided that, in case of open sweets, from 1 October 2020 Must display Best Before Date.
Why the government took this step:-
APSSAI i.e. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI-Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) has taken this step in view of the threat to the health of the general public. Merchants also sell stale food and drink to consumers. So that this point has been made public.
