According to a report, an estimated 150 million people in India now shop online for groceries or daily necessities. This has been greatly increased due to the lockdown that followed Corona's arrival. E-grocery stores such as Big Basket and Grocers have a combined market share of about 75%. In addition, many players are active at the local level. D-Mart also started online shopping in Lockdown, but later discontinued the service.

Geomart the cheapest

Geomart, Reliance Group's online grocery platform in India, was launched in July this year. In just three months, 5 million people have downloaded Geomart's app on the Google Play Store. Divya Bhaskar ordered 15 items including groceries, ghee, besan, lentils, soap, washing powder, butter at Grofers, Big Basket and Geomart. The lowest bill of the three came on Geomart. Compared to Geomart, other platforms cost around Rs. As expensive as 50-200.

All three platforms are identical in order delivery

Grofers, Big Basket and Geomart all take approximately 12 hours to deliver an order. Goods are delivered within 15 hours even if the order is very large.

The percentage of discount on MRP is higher among growers

Growers get the highest return according to the discount between the MRP and the final bill amount shown in the bill by Divya Bhaskar. The total MRP of 15 items on grocers is Rs. 4,091 and get a 20.92% discount on it. Against this, Big Basket saw a discount of 17.07% and Reliance Geomart 11.21%. However, customers benefit more from Geomart, as the final bill amount is the lowest.
