WhatsApp officially announced the rollout of the Disappearing Message feature a few days ago and is now available to all Indians.
Once the WhatsApp Disappearing Message feature is enabled, media files, audio files and other content will be automatically deleted from the chat after 7 days of sending the message. This new feature is also available for iOS users with Android.
Step 1: First open WhatsApp.
Step 2: Then select the contact for which you want to turn on this feature and open it.
Step 3: Click on the contact name at the top.
Step 4: Click on the name to open the contact information. Here you will see the disappearing message, which is above encryption. Turn it on.
Step 5: Then the Disappearing Message feature will be activated. Chat will now be automatically deleted 7 days after the message media files are sent. Follow the same process to deactivate it and click off.
Note: Content including photos and videos is automatically deleted when this feature is turned on. However, media files saved on the device will not be deleted. Even forwarded messages will not be deleted automatically.
