Twitter's new verification policy
Users will now be able to verify their account; The company again turned on verification for categories including brands, NGO, government company
Since 2017, Twitter has stopped public verification. This feature was available only to selected and special category users
Government companies, brands, non-profit organizations, news, entertainment, sports, organizers and other influential personalities will now be able to verify their accounts.
Microblogging site Twitter has re-released its verification account feature. Twitter has 2 types of accounts. These include verified and unverified. A verified blue tick appears next to the user's profile. Twitter shut down public verification in 2017. So only certain people got the blue tick. After 4 years, Twitter has started public verification again. Now any user will be able to verify the Twitter account. The process of new verification will start soon.
Category of account verification
In the first phase, 6 types of profiles will get verification. It includes government companies, brands, non-profit organizations, news, entertainment, sports, organizers and other influential personalities. Users who have more followers will also be able to apply for verification. Name, profile picture and mobile number or email id have to be verified for verification on Twitter. Another condition is that the Twitter account must be active for the last 6 months.
You will get a blue tick after verification
According to Twitter, a blue tick will appear on the profile when the user accepts the application. Twitter has been working for several months to bring clarity to the verification. Now a new policy for public verification has been launched. Twitter will now work to remove the inactive, incomplete account from Twitter. At the same time, the blue tick will be removed from the account of the user who repeatedly violates the rules of Twitter.
Verification process
To do this, click on the Verification tab in Account Settings.
Select one of the 6 categories given in it then upload any identity card of Government of India.
Upload information like email, ID, website link to Twitter. After applying, Twitter will verify your details and account.
