Government has launched Mera Ration app to help migrant workers. Launched by the ministry of consumer affairs, food and public distribution, the app is part of the government’s ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ (ONRC) system.
The Mera Ration app is aimed at migrant labourers who keep moving for work and have ration card. The app currently covers 32 states and union territories. The remaining states are likely to be added soon.
On this occasion, while briefing the media Sudhanshu Pandey, secretary, department of food & public distribution, said that the system which was started initially in four states in August 2019 has been rolled out in 32 states/UTs by December 2020 and the integration of remaining four States/UT (Assam, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and West Bengal) is expected to be completed in next few months. He said that at present, the system covers nearly 69 Crore NFSA beneficiaries (about 86% NFSA population) in the country and a monthly average of about 1.5~1.6 Crore portability transactions are being recorded under ONORC.
Mera Ration mobile app: All you need to know about it
The Mera Ration mobile app is currently available only on Android devices. Citizens can register themselves on the app to get food grains at subsidised rates.
The app allows users to check their entitlement, locate nearby ration shops, do biometric authentication and more.
There’s Aadhar-based login and support for both Hindi and English languages. The app is likely to get 14 regional language support in future.

To download the app, head to Google Play Store and search Mera Ration keyword. From the search result, tap on the app and tap on the Install button.
