Arun Kumar, the Basic Shiksha Adhikari( BSA) said that he ordered the inquiry after the videotape reached his sight. He also informed that according to rules, themid-day mess distribution is to be done in the presence of the headmaster and the preceptors.

Babita Kumari, the headmistress of the academy, informed that Akshay Patra served themid-day refections in seminaries. According to her, the academy’s strength is 293 but on Sunday, only 181 scholars attended whereas, on Monday, 169 scholars turned up.
“ Due to Navratri fasting, a many Class 5 scholars didn't have a mess. Also, every pupil doesn't like chapatis. They prefer Tehri, vegetables, rice and beats. So, there were redundant chapatis. After amid-day mess was served, these fat chapatis were whisked in a plastic bag to be disposed of, ” she said.

Preeti Shukla, the block development officer probing the case, said that she visited the academy and according to her findings, the videotape was shot on Monday. She added chapattis shouldn't have been kept on the bottom but also said that they weren't served to the scholars.
