government to provide Rs 12,000 assistance to students for purchase of electric
two-wheeler, Rs 48,000 assistance for electric rickshaws
Gandhinager:
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani todey announced an aid scheme to encourage the use
of battery-powered two-wheelers and three-wheelers to curb air pollution from
vehicles in the state’s towns and cities. Under this assistance scheme, the
government will provide assistance of Rs 12,000 to students studying from std-9
to college in the state to purchase a battery-powered two-wheeler.

The
target is to provide subsid to 10 thousand vehicles. Not only this, the state
government will also provide assistance of Rs. 48,000 for the purchase of
battery operated e-rickshaw three wheeler for individual and insttitutaion
beneficiaries and will benefit about five thousand e-rickshaws. At the same
time, a sacheme of Rs 50 lakh has been implemented in the state to set up
infrastructural facilities for charging battery powered vehicles.
